Meet your Physical Therapist

Sarah Sudheimer, DPT, MTC

I have lived in St Augustine for 10 years now, and first moved here to attend the University of St Augustine, where I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I am originally from southeast Virginia and received my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from James Madison University, and my Master’s degree in Exercise Science & Wellness from Old Dominion University. Before physical therapy, I gained experience in group fitness and personal training, which have both influenced my treatment approach.

I have been practicing physical therapy since 2016, and earned my Manual Therapy Certification in 2017. While my manual therapy background has taught me to take a hands-on approach toward healing orthopaedic injuries throughout the entire body, my real passion involves treating pelvic floor conditions for both men and women. I began studying pelvic floor physical therapy in 2016 and quickly learned that this is my niche. Pelvic floor awareness and education has been lacking, and I love teaching the St Augustine community about its influence on our bodies. Pelvic floor dysfunction can be difficult for most people to talk about, but I love listening to anything and everything that you are experiencing and finding out how I can help you with your symptoms.

My role as a pelvic floor physical therapist is only a part of who I am. I am also a wife and mother of two beautiful girls. I love spending time with my family. We all love the water, and frequently go to the beach and the pool on the weekends. My favorite forms of working out includes running, walking, group fitness, and tennis.

“Sarah provides excellent one-on-one therapy, and truly cares about her patients’ well being. She is very friendly, professional, and knowledgable.”- Shep C.

“I love Sarah. She listens to my concerns then we come up with a plan of action that works. I have pelvic floor dysfunction. I wasn’t sure if therapy would work, but with Sarah’s help, things are getting better.”- Tami L.

“I found Sarah to be extremely competent not only regarding the physical issues that precipitated my visit, but also in the handling of my anxiety over being injured. I had many questions - She answered everything without hesitation. Her professionalism helped put me at ease. Most importantly, after my treatments I felt great! “- Mark W.
